As I sent the skinny to all our booked couples yesterday on our new pop up lounges, I can give the lounges a big shout out here. The lovely S and I lay under a palm tree in February, we were musing about what we could bring our couples that would get them leaping out their chairs with excitement. After a while we suddenly came up with the idea of pop up lounges. Of course! They’re a great add on that you can choose if you want to or not if you don’t. They’re a fab way to surprise your guests when they’ve already wined and dined in style throughout your day. Soooo, there are two different lounges, you can hire them together or separately. The whiskey & cigar lounge comes with all the furnishings to create an old style club feel. So a vintage leather chesterfield, leather and aluminium club chairs, persian rug, art deco drinks … Continue reading
Continuing our look at the most talked-about 2017 wedding trends (for part 1 click here and for part 2 click here). This week we thought we’d highlight one of the other trend forecast by our friends over at Coco Wedding Venues. Minimalist Luxe. Katrina Otter describes this on the Coco Wedding trend report as “stripping things back without scrimping on luxury or the overall style and vibe.” Yep, love that. Here we often add to the natural elements and surroundings with metallic vases and candle holders to keep things simple but luxurious as in this cake table display where the simplicity of the cake design is complemented by the sparkling touches of the tea lights and flowers. This cheese cake arrangement on one of our log slices uses an abundance of fruit with oversized lanterns and a bridesmaid’s bouquet, all against a foliage backdrop to create a feeling of luxe with simplicity. And this semi-naked cake, simply decorated … Continue reading
I thought we’d take a look at some of the predicted 2017 wedding trends that are being talked about right now. I mentioned Coco Wedding Venues 2017 wedding trend report which you can see over on their website and we’re getting a lot of reports and predictions in our inbox now about what’s coming up. I look at the trends, of course I do, I’m in the wedding business. I’m also interested in trends and fashion generally, I like to keep up with new things. But with interior and fashion trends, if I don’t like the look of it or I don’t think it will suit me or my home, I pass over it, no biggie. It’s the same with wedding trends, there are some I just don’t get so I don’t adopt them. Last year a number of trends mentioned tropical colours and flowers, I didn’t see how that would fit with the venue and … Continue reading
I got on a roll putting up the photos from the Magnolia Rouge shoot this morning so thought I would get on and do the winter elopement shoots we did here last year with our elopement photographer Clare Kinchin, our elopement florist Amanda Randell and our preferred elopement hair and make up duo, Jodie and Chloe from The Hair Lounge Tavistock and Jess from Visage Aesthetics. The lovely Kayleigh and Ben were our local, real life models who had got married in real life a few months earlier. They’re just so lovely together, it was like being at a real wedding! I wanted to do a shoot here in December because I wanted to give couples a realistic view of what the garden looks like here in the winter. There are no leaves on the trees and nothing is in flower but the venue still has its own natural beauty as you can see from the photos. We … Continue reading
The gardens and grounds here at Ever After make this a beautiful place to be married. And then it gets dark. And when the lights come up, the venue is transformed. We have lots of different forms of lighting from festoon lights, fairy light canopies, steel lanterns, garden uplighters, light up furniture to tea lights and candles. This year we’ve purchased a new fairy light canopy for the wedding barn and we’ve also bought our own fairy light canopy for the marquee which previously couples used to hire in. We’ve always had the disco lights for the marquee and our white starlight dance floor which are great for evening music and dancing. I’ll post some pics of the wedding barn canopy as soon as it goes up. We’ve also bought some new festoon lights with white lanterns which again couples used to hire in. They’re now available free of charge so there’ll be plenty of opportunity … Continue reading
We have plenty of slate signs here at Ever After which are available for use by our couples on their wedding day to create that perfect English garden wedding feel. Signs can be used to direct guests to certain places, let them know what you want them to do say with the guest book or at the bar. Signs can be dotted around the venue and the gardens as you like… Are you thinking of having signs at your wedding? You’re welcome to design and bring your own signs, borrow ours or (if you give us enough notice) we can design bespoke signs for you as all ours are hand drawn in-house. Take a look on our inspiration page of our website to see how you might use our signs and other items to dress the venue for your outdoor wedding.
These arrived today and I couldn’t be more thrilled with them! Who doesn’t need outdoor seating in the shape of bottle tops… I added Mrs Mouse to the photo to give a sense of scale. I asked her to sit on top of one of them for an extra photo but she wasn’t keen and referred me to her agent. These stools will look great on the lawn during your drinks reception. They add a contemporary feel to the outdoor furniture and I think they’ll be a talking point with guests. Check back shortly to see more additions to our decor collection included free of charge to our wedding couples.
