Dearly Beloved Design…

A couple of years ago I worked with the lovely Abigail McKenzie on a photo shoot here at Ever After.   Abigail designed and hand painted my favourite ever aisle runner – and people still love that photo today: So I was thrilled to see that Abigail has set up a new bespoke stationery and wedding design business Dearly Beloved Design. Abigail met her partner Ben at university where they were both studying illustration.  The couple joined forces personally and professionally and run Dearly Beloved Design together.   Their design background is at the heart of everything they do – every piece starts with a hand drawn sketch.  We love the idea that everything is hand-crafted by the two of them for a truly bespoke “just for you” service. Don’t forget your invite…

Photographs are the most important way for you to permanently capture your wedding day for the rest of your lives. I noticed this year that for the most part couples didn’t bring their wedding stationery (or papercraft) with them on the day which means it doesn’t form part of your official wedding photographs.   That’s a shame because most people spend a lot a time making sure their stationery fits in with the style for the rest of the day and whether you spend hours DIYing your stationery suite or working with a bespoke designer, that planning forms an important part of your memories of the day. Looking for save the date inspiration…? Check out these ideas…

Save the date cards are an idea imported from the States which has become increasingly popular in the UK.   They are often sent out 12 months before the wedding date so that guests are aware of the date well in advance and can keep your date free. Wedding invitations are not usually sent out more than 2 months in advance but if you want a consistent feel to your wedding stationery, you may need to think about finalising your stationery design early so that all your stationery fits together.
