carole & craig, august 2016

nature inspired wedding

Carole and Craig got married here on a sunny day in August.   Guests sipped on prosecco with edible flowers, beers, and flavoured water on arrival before taking their seats inside the wedding barn for a moving wedding ceremony.   The wedding barn was decorated with a foliage and flower arch by Dartmoor Flowers who also provided the flowers for the aisle logs.   Family members gave a live musical performance during the ceremony.

Carole wore a beautiful wedding dress by Grace Loves Lace and had flowers braided into her hair.  She carried a simple green and white bouquet which she put together herself and was accompanied by 3 bridesmaids and an adorable 3 year old flower girl.

After the wedding ceremony guests ‘pimped’ their prosecco and had a choice of pear or apple cider and a selection of cordials served from our hand cart. The order of the day was hand painted onto a wooden pallet and guests were invited to use the polaroid camera and peg the photos onto a picture frame strung with twine.   There was a hand painted menu board and the table plan consisted of plant pots with painted table numbers and giant kraft labels.

Canapés including potato & rosemary croquettes and tiny crab cakes with Cornish crab mayonnaise were served during the garden drinks reception with a playlist played through the marquee sound system. The Father of the Bride made his speech during the drinks reception and groom Craig sang live to his bride with his guitar in front of all their guests.   Luna Photography took the bride and groom into the woods for some fabulous couple portraits.

For the wedding breakfast set up, Carole & Craig wanted a woodland look so chose long tables dressed with green linen, foliage garlands by Dartmoor Flowers, calligraphy kraft table numbers and guest place names decorated with tiny fir cones.   The wedding breakfast was served after the Best Man’s speech with a sharing starter mezzo platters of cured meats, sticky chicken wings & courgette fritters, followed by a main course of slow roasted beef brisket or fillet of wild sea bass with pepper puree, finished off with a selection of tiny desserts.

Craig made his speech before tea & coffee were served on the lawns and the honesty bar opened serving wines, beers & cocktails.   Craig had curated a playlist of music designed to finish exactly on time and the dance floor was full ALL evening.  The wedding cake made by Divine Wedding Cakes was served as an evening snack.
