COVID update: viewings

Well the shut down continues for us.  As I write, all weddings of all sizes are still cancelled.

All our summer Saturday and MMW weddings for this summer have been postponed.  All of them.  It’s been devastating for us and our couples.  On the plus side we have found new dates for every single couple who wanted one. Yay!

We put a halt on all new bookings until we had got all the postponement dates sorted.   We’ve done that now (more yay!) but we’re still closed for viewings.

Although we’re waiting for info from the Govt about when we can open up again, we’re making plans to open up for viewings in July and keeping our fingers crossed that can happen.  At the moment, the first viewing weekend will be 18th July.  It looks as though we’ll do viewings on Fridays, Sundays and week days.

Why no viewings on Saturdays?  Well, we offered our postponed 2020 wedding couples a free weekend in the honeymoon cottage on the weekend of their wedding so most weekends from July we’re expecting the honeymoon cottage to be full (provided the Govt gives the go ahead).   We’ve also got a few elopement weddings happening from July – again that’s assuming the Govt gives us the green light for small weddings.  We’ve got to fit viewings around those too so yeah, it’s going to be tricky!  I’ll be doing another post shortly about availability for 2021 – there are very few dates available.

In terms of booking a viewing, we’ve already got a waiting list for viewings and we’re booking couples in on a first come, first served basis.  We’re prioritising 2021 viewings as we have so few dates left for next year.  So if you ask now for a viewing, we might not have a space in that first week as the waiting list is pretty long.

Before we book you in for a viewing, we’ll set up a phone call with you to see where you are in your venue booking process.  We know we’ve got couples who are just viewing before confirming a date with us. They already know they want to book with us, the viewing is a formality for the.  We’ll be prioritising those couples over people who aren’t so far ahead with their process and are just window shopping right now – I hope that makes sense?

We’ll make sure we check with you before your viewing that we’ve got a wedding date to suit you.  We don’t want you to waste your time if you’re looking at 2021 and we don’t have a date that would work for you.   As dates are likely to go quite quickly once we open up for viewings, we’ll double check availability with you by email.

So that’s it, our plans to re-open for viewings!  Email me if you want to get on the viewing list.  You can contact me at [email protected].  Our phone lines are still not open, we don’t have any staff to do that right now so email is your best way to get in touch.
