Guests arrived at 1pm for Rachel and Francis’ wedding, and enjoyed a glass of sparkling elderflower until being ushered to the wedding barn for the ceremony at 2pm.

Following the wedding ceremony, guests were guided to the lawns where the bride and groom had their confetti throw, and their drinks reception commenced. Guests were offered prosecco with edible flowers, beers and ciders in ice baths, or sparkling elderflower for the non-drinkers. During the drinks reception guests were treated to music from acoustic singer Esther Cole.

Their overall style for the day was a country and wild flower colour garden theme with a festival vibe. The bride and her mother grew a lot of the flowers themselves, including all the ceremony aisle flowers (which doubled-up as their centrepiece flowers). The bridal bouquets were provided by Sharon Mesher. They had silver-grey tablecloths and ghost chairs for their wedding breakfast and the centrepieces were logs with jars of flowers placed on top.

Guests were seated at 4pm when the speeches took place, followed by the wedding breakfast. To start, guests had a choice of a sharing boards including cured meats, salamis, mozzarella, tomato, olives, or a portion of heritage tomato, basil and mozzarella salad. For their main course they had a fillet of corn fed chicken with creamed leeks &  bacon and clotted cream mash, or roasted vegetable and chickpea tagine. They opted for the dessert trio to finish, and chose crème brule with a lavender biscuit, lemon posset, and chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce.

At 6.30pm, guests moved to the terrace for tea and coffee and their honesty bar was opened. Rachel and Francis hired Ever After’s sweet trolly for guests to enjoy throughout the evening, which included personalised sweetie bags.

Evening guests were invited to arrive from 7.30pm onwards, and they had their first dance at 8pm. Playing their evening music was band ‘land of the giants’, and Rachel had asked a number of close friends to make various cakes to create a wedding cake table. The wedding cakes were served alongside a selection of cheeses and biscuits for their evening buffet.
