When should I elope?
Every season is magical in Devon for an elopement wedding. Whether you love that cosy winter feeling or seeing the first shoots of spring, your favourite time of year is the right time for your dream elopement
Choose your elopement season...
Early Spring Elopement
With the promise of warmer weather approaching, spring bulbs are blooming. The daffodils are out and the camellias and early tulips are adding to the feel of spring on its way
Early spring at Ever After is a beautiful time to elope. And with warmer temperatures, you could get married in the wedding barn and have champagne and canapes in the garden before heading into the terrace to eat
£3,900 (incl VAT)
Summer Elopement
Having your elopement at Ever After in early or late summer means you get to enjoy our magical gardens at their best
You’ll have full access to all the gardens the whole time you’re here, there are no restricted areas so you can make the most of the beautiful surroundings. We’ve also got our own woods so you can get some stunning photos in the woodland and along the river. You’ll need to book an extra hour with our photographer if you want woodland wedding pics.
£4,500 (incl VAT)
Autumn Elopement
Summer is leaving but winter hasn’t yet arrived. Copper tones on the trees amongst the last of the garden flowers, mini white pumpkins and the warming tones of flickering tea-lights
Go for yellows, oranges, deep reds, mixed with a touch of foliage… And perhaps a feather bolero for when the temperature drops. Or pick contrast colours to play against the autumn tones
Sit by the fire with a basket of blankets in arms reach, and a glass of wine in hand, the place is yours for the evening
£3,900 (incl VAT)
Winter Elopement
The magic starts to happen as Christmas draws closer
Get married in front of the open fire under the glass roof or in the main house. If you choose outdoors, we’ll put sheepskin rugs and hot water bottles out
In December there’s always a Christmas tree (or two) around to bring that Christmassy feel. You get a roaring fire and heaters but make sure you and your guests wrap up warm so you can get some great wedding photos outdoors in the gardens
And as the night draws in, snuggle up together on the sofa with our cosy blankets in front of the fire
£3,900 (incl VAT)
The cost is really easy — one price for the two of you and an extra price per head if you add guests. Guest numbers don’t affect the deposit to secure your date. The deposit is always £600 incl VAT no matter how many guests (or none).
You can invite guests for the whole day or choose just to have them there for your ceremony & drinks reception.
There are different guest prices depending on your choice of having them there the whole day or just for ceremony & reception.

You can bring up to 2 children under 5, there’s no charge for them & they don’t count towards your guest numbers.

For children 5-13 there’s a 50% discount on the adult guest charge and for children over 13 there’s a £10 discount on the adult guest charge as we don’t serve alcohol.
REGISTRARS FEES
Our price doesn’t include Devon Registrar’s fees which you need to pay on top directly to them. The current charge for Devon Registrars to conduct your elopement ceremony at an approved venue (that’s us) is £500.
You need to book Devon Registrars for your wedding ceremony, we can’t do that for you. You can reserve a date online with the Registrars, the fee is currently £50 which guarantees your date. There are additional fees to pay to the Registrars later, the £50 fee just secures your date.
The two of you also need to go along to your local Registrars office in person to provide proof of residence and ID. That can be done at any time in the 11 months before your wedding date and MUST be done at least 28 days before your wedding date.
Don’t book your date with Devon Registrars til you’ve had email confirmation from us that we’re holding the date for you.
