2023 the year of the elopement wedding
HNY one and all!!
Is 2023 the year for you to have your own mini wedding? Your elopement? Are you already booked in with us? We’ve got lots of exciting elopements in 2023 and we’d love you to be part of our elopement family.
As in previous years, we’re now closed in January and February. We’re answering emails and taking new bookings but we’re currently closed for all visits, we open up again in March.
If you’re booked in for your own micro wedding with us for March or April this year, you’ll have heard from me in the last few weeks as we start getting into the styling and other details for your elopement. Yay, love a detail. If you’re getting hitched with us in May this year, you’ll be hearing from me towards the end of this month – it’s all kicking off for more great elopements in 2023.
How far in advance do I need to book an elopement?
When we first started our elopement weddings in 2016, I assumed couples would book just a couple of months in advance. No siree, turns out most couples want to nail their elopement date well in advance, usually a year or more.
Legally you only have to give 28 days notice of marriage with the Registrars local to where you live. But tbh, good luck with trying to get a date with us 28 days in advance, we’re usually fully booked up months ahead.
Let’s take this year as an example. We were fully booked for April and May 2023. But I announced on our Insta page this morning that we’ve just had a date in April become free as someone has asked to postpone to September this year. So now we have one April 2023 date available which is Tuesday 18th April 2023. ** see end of post for update.
This year we’re closed in June, July and August for all weddings. We open up again in September. We’ve only got 2 dates left in September 2023 which are 26th and 28th. We’ve got one date left for October 2023 which is 31st.

We now have our handy availability calendar which you can access here at any time day or night. It’s always up to date so you know exactly which elopement dates are still available to book.
There’s an easy key, green dates are available, pink dates are on reserve for 7 days.

March 2023 – 4 dates still available in the first half of the month
April 2023 – that 18th April date I mentioned
May 2023 – no dates currently available
September 2023 – 26th and 28th available
October 2023 – 31st available
November and December – currently good availability.
2024 and beyond
We’re taking bookings for 2024 right now. In fact we’ve only got 4 dates left for April 2024. Yep, already we’re down to just 4 dates that month. I told you couples like to book up well in advance.
2025? Well we’ve had a number of 2025 elopement enquiries but we haven’t opened our dates yet for 2025. So if 2025 is your elopement year, keep in touch with the blog and I’ll let you know when we’re due to open the dates.

**Shortly after I published this, one of our May 2023 couples asked if they could swap their date to the 18th April date as it suited them better. That’s now been done so their May 2023 date is now available – that’s Tuesday 9th May 2023. You can have up to 10 guests for a May wedding.
