Elopements featured
We love to see our elopements featured in the wedding press. This time it was Wed Magazine who featured the elopement of Megan & Lydia which took place here in March this year. You can see their wedding over on their gallery right here on the website.
As Megan told Wed Magazine they met whilst finishing their PhD’s. You can read about the proposal over on Wed Magazine – such a cute story.
New pics
I thought I’d share some extra pics here on the blog today that aren’t in the gallery or in the Wed Mag feature. I love to be able to show some extra pics you haven’t seen elsewhere. Here we go…
First look
First up, the first look. Megan & Lydia chose their wedding dresses in secret so neither knew what the other was going to be wearing and they wanted a first look to be able to share that moment. Love that.
Here they are having their first look on the cottage deck with our elopement photographer Clare Kinchin. First looks are definitely a thing. Some couples get ready separately and then want to have a shared moment before they get to the ceremony part. If this is something you want to do, let us know and we’ll make it happen and make sure we’re there to record it all for you. Like this…
New ceremony photos
A few more ceremony pics you won’t have seen anywhere else – aren’t those flowers fab? An asymetric arrangment on one side of the arch. Then the arch decorated by us with fabric, lanterns and tea lights in the wedding colours of pink, apricot and blue. The flowers were created by one of our two fab elopement florists, Elizabea Floral Designs.
Confetti shot
And then a confetti throw – yay! So long as it’s biodegradeable bring all the confetti, we’ll make sure it’s in the right place at the right time for you and our Clare will help guests with what to do and when. Don’t worry about the weather, if it’s dry it’ll be outside and if it’s raining we can do confetti indoors on the terrace where it’s super easy to sweep up.
Some couples bring dried flower petals they’ve dried themselves from their own garden flowers – some just buy boxes of ready made biodegradable paper confetti, whatever works for you. Lydia & Megan had confetti to go with their flower colours – great for pics as you can see.
Pop those corks
After the confetti throw, we served canapes and made sure everyone’s glasses were topped up with plenty of fizz. Megan & Lydia put their wellies on and Clare took them into the woods for their couple shots. And if you read that Wed Mag feature you’ll have seen Megan talk about Lydia producing surprise mini prosecco bottles from her massive pockets in her dress as one of her fave moments. You might have been disappointed not to see any actual pics of that but don’t worry, I’ve got you – here they all are moment by moment…
The weather was changeable but this is proof right here you don’t need sunshine to get great wedding pics when you’ve got the right photographer and the right venue which has brollies you can use…
I like to show you some of these extra pics because we obviously don’t show all 200-300 photos on each gallery. The gallery is just to give you a taster of the story of each wedding so you get an idea of how things can be and how your wedding could be. You can take a bit from here, a bit from there, add your own twist as Megan and Lydia did here for their wedding.
Pop over to the Spring gallery to see more March elopements – don’t forget you can always search for a particular month in the search facility in the top right hand side of the website to get more weddings from the month you need.
