Things have been a little quiet on the blog recently, partly because I have been attending the Niemierko Academy at the Dorchester for wedding planners. One word. Amazing. I learned a lot. Including that even I can only eat so much cake. I have never eaten that much cake in my life…what with a wedding cake tasting at Fortnum and Masons and then tea and cakes every afternoon at the Dorchester, I am ashamed to say that this plate of cakes from last week didn’t get touched. I know! A sin. But that just shows you how much cake there was… And then there was the trip to the Covent Garden Flower Market – my dream place although I would spend all my time gazing at the flowers and not working so maybe not such a good idea. So many beautiful flowers… We were given a tour of the market by the world renowned florist Rob Van Helden who also took us round his work shop and amazing warehouse of vases and other wedding decor accessories – what a place! Rob has every kind of vase, container and vessel you might think of – and many you wouldn’t, a real wondrous Aladdin’s cave… Now I’m back in Devon working on planning some fabulous outdoor weddings for 2014. I’ll be back with some more pics and stories about a fabulous week at the Niemierko Academy including cocktails made in a teapot and a lamp made from 67,000 pearls… In the meantime do come and visit me on facebook, I now also have a twitter account – it’s early days but I’m loving it!
