So having come down to the earth from the Niemierko wedding planning Academy at the Dorchester, I thought I’d share some more of the amazing experience.
The spa has been recently refurbed in blush pink with pink and cream velvet chairs, tiny tables just perfect for having champagne and little cakes ahead of a wonderfully relaxing treatment in the spa itself.
One spectacular feature of the spa is this amazing chandelier made from 67,000 pearls – wow.
What I really wanted to know was who plumps up those gorgeous cushions and do you need special training to make them all ‘just so’?!
Then we moved into the Dorchester Bar to taste some wedding cocktails – it’s all part of the wedding planning job…
So the first one was a cocktail made with champagne and gold dust for that extra sparkle on your wedding day – it looked amazing. Then we moved on to a kir champagne cocktail decorated with real hibiscus flowers and finally a speciality from the Dorchester which I loved, champagne cocktails made in a teapot, flavoured with earl grey tea and served in a stemmed tea cup – fabulous!
Cocktails are a great way to add glamour to your wedding. There are so many ways you can personalise it, including having a cocktail competition where your guests come up with a special cocktail which says something about you as a couple, or you design your own cocktail or give a new twist to a favourite classic.
So which cocktail would you have at your wedding and why…?
In the next post I’ll be sharing dress photos of some of the great wedding designers – and there’s a video too…
