October 2023 elopement wedding cakes

October 2023 elopement wedding cakes

I haven’t done a cake post in a while so let’s fix that right now.   Wedding cakes.  In particular elopement wedding cakes.   We include your very own wedding cake in our elopement package.

Designed by you and our trained patissiere, Harrie from Boo To A Goose.   Harrie has been doing our elopement wedding cakes since we started the elopement weddings back in 2016.   That’s a lotta elopement cakes.

In the 3 months leading up to your wedding date, you’ll be in direct contact with Harrie to talk cake.   What flavour, what kinda icing, colour, topping, flowers/no flowers, decoration – the whole works.   It really is a cake designed just for your wedding.

If you know exactly what you want, just let Harrie know.   If you need a bit of a helping cake hand, she’ll guide you through it.   And if you’d just like to leave all the decisions to her, she can do that too.  If I see on our shared supplier’s spreadsheet (yep, we’re that organised) the entry, ‘free reign’ I know all the decisions have been left to her and she’s got carte blanche to get creative.

ok let’s get into our October 2023 elopement wedding  cakes…

Karolina & Ed

The request here was for a red velvet semi naked cake.   As Karolina and Ed’s colours were dark green with white and gold, we set the cake on our white glass cake stand, flanked by brass lanterns on a white sequin table cloth and white, gold and green tealights.   White square cake plates and white china cups and saucers kept the clean, contemporary look.

Jess & Ned

Jess & Ned wanted a gluten free white chocolate and raspberry cake and gave Harrie free reign with the decor, they just requested touches of burgundy.

The cake stood at the end of the dining table.   We had a double cake table for this wedding as the mother of the bride had also made a wedding cake so we displayed both cakes on the same table.

The cake was sat on our marble and wood cake stand and the table was dressed with blush pink voile and a burgundy coloured runner.   Brass lanterns and burgundy coloured tea lights with pops of pink and white wove the cake table into the dining set up.

 Kelsey & Luke

The colours for this wedding were navy blue, rust, sunflower yellow and the requested vibe was overall boho.

We popped the cake on our wooden cake stand and dressed the table with a navy blue undercloth, fringed yellow overcloth and rust runner.   Fresh sunflowers and hydrangeas brought the look together.

Jen & Oliver

For our next October 2023 elopement, Jen & Oliver asked for a coffee and walnut semi naked cake with rough top and fresh flowers.

We brought out our wooden cake stand again for those rustic vibes and the table was layered in neutral linens with overcloths of burgundy and rust.   Lanterns and tealights complete the look.   Our florist, Jodie also dried some orange slices especially for the cake as the bride had some on her pinterest board.

Kayleigh & Wasim

were up next for October.   They went for a semi naked strawberry victoria sponge cake decorated with fresh flowers.

More autumn colours for this October wedding but a slightly lighter colour palette with sage green and whites with a paler shade of orange.

As a rustic vibe had been very specifically requested, we went for our marble and wood cake stand, brass lanterns and bark tealights with accents of orange and copper.   Rose petals on the rust overcloth and white pumpkins brought a romantic edge to the seasonal set up.

Kathryn & Ben

Another proper elopement wedding with no guests, Kathryn & Ben had soft pastel colours of white, cream, blush, peach/orange, and green eucalyptus – they wanted ‘elegant but a little wild’.   Got it.

Harrie made a semi naked strawberry Victoria sponge decorated with fresh flowers from the florist which matched the bridal bouquet.

The table was dressed in natural linen with peach and blush runners, peach, white and blush tealights, white mini pumpkins and the arch ceremony flowers as added extras.   The marble and wood cake stand brought a rustic elegant feel.

Final October wedding cake

So here we are, at the final wedding cake of October 2023.   Colours for this wedding were creams, orange with a pop of burgundy.   Tick.

The couple went for a cake on its side for something a bit different – the cake itself was a double chocolate sponge decorated with plain buttercream.

Neutral linen undercloth with rust and burgundy top runners brought the wedding colours together and the cake was displayed on our marble and wood cake stand.  Peach and burgundy tea lights with brass lanterns gave this a warm and cosy look at the end of the sweetheart table – again, no guests.
