The photos are in from Vince of Devon based Yeti Photography of Phillipa and John’s wedding here in May. I’m hoping to persuade Phillipa to give us her thoughts on the wedding planning process and the big day itself but in the meantime I wanted to share some of the highlights from the photos.
Phillipa and John got married in Lewdown church. Phillipa and her bridesmaids got ready in the honeymoon cottage on the morning of the wedding and were driven to the church from the venue.
After the church service the guests gathered in the field for a clay pigeon shoot with picnic hampers which included game pie and other game related canapes. Because no alcohol is allowed when shooting guests were served ginger beer, cloudy lemonade and elderflower presse, perfectly fitting the English outdoor setting. The weather didn’t exactly co-operate during the shoot but that didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s spirits.
Phillipa decorated bottles and jars with gold glitter which not only looked great but the glitter was stuck fast and didn’t come off everywhere! The green glasses were hired in (cost about £1 a glass) and really added a pop of colour to the table layout. The foliage garlands used to decorate the pillars in the church were brought back and used to decorate the photo booth frame and used as a garland for the top table. Deborah of Dartmoor Flowers created the garlands and the bridal bouquets.
Phillipa kindly donated the photo booth frame and all her gold bottles for use by future couples – thanks Phillipa. If you would like to use either of these for your wedding here, let me know.
