This impromptu pre-wedding shoot is adorable. Jess & Rob got married here at Ever After in June this year and picked Richard Murgatroyd to capture their day. Richard is based on London, as were Jess & Rob so it made sense for them to meet up with Richard close to home.
Photographers are usually willing to travel nationally (and some internationally) to cover a wedding. Unlike other wedding suppliers like cake makers and florists, photographers can’t (or shouldn’t!) cover more than one wedding a day and as they have no cake or flowers to spoil on a long journey, travelling to a wedding is not such a big deal for them, they just load up their kit and go.
Do be aware though that if your wedding photographer is travelling a long way for your wedding, you will have to pay their accommodation for a night and maybe two nights depending on the distance. Make sure you factor that into your costings if you’re considering a wedding photographer who’ll need to travel for your day.
As well as picking an ace wedding photographer in Richard, Jess & Rob also lucked out with two other things, firstly Richard stayed overnight in our on-site annexe which is included in the venue hire price for two nights. ie no extra accommodation costs for Jess & Rob.
And secondly, as Richard arrived at the venue the day before the wedding day, he took Jess & Rob out for a couple of gorgeous pre-wedding day shots, how fab is that? A little added extra that made for some super lovely photos but gave them some time with Richard to practice having their pics taken and most important, some precious time alone to really experience and take in the final hours before the wedding day.
Richard took Jess & Rob down our drive and in literally less than 2 minutes, they were in this gorgeous location on the river in the evening sunshine.
And finally my personal fave, this shot of Jess & Rob in our Dartmoor river…all the feels.
