As you probably know by now (having trawled through a fair few wedding websites you’re picking up the lingo) the wedding breakfast is not bacon & eggs the next morning (boo), it’s your first meal as a married couple with your guests after your drinks reception.
Great food for your guests is may-jer-lee important for your wedding day. Yummy canapes like mini shepherd’s pies, cornish crab cakes served on teaspoons or lil bangers with piped mustard mash are perfect for serving at your drinks reception. Or maybe Devon cream tea canapes with strawberries & clotted cream in shot glasses, tiny scones & mini sandwiches.
Whether you want fine dining with seasonal food sourced from around Dartmoor & Devon or more informal sharing platters brought to the table family style, we’ll help you put together your wedding menu and (of course) you get a free food tasting with our caterers so you can road test your final choices.
Choose from sharing platters with chargrilled rump steak & horseradish cream followed by a dessert station with shot glasses of lemon posset & rose petal jelly, meringue kisses & choc pots in tiny kilner jars.
The caterers do fab mini fish & chips or pulled pork mini baps with chips in the evening for guests hungry from doing their thing on the dance floor. We won’t force you to order evening food from our caterers, we won’t insist you feed all or a percentage of your guests in the evening. You know your guests, you decide.
You can bring in your own evening food – the only rule is it must be ready cooked, no-one else can use the chefs’ kitchen. Our staff will heat, cut, serve and clear away any evening food you bring in, no extra cost. Local pasties, cheese cakes, home made cakes, your choice – although you will be foregoing the best fish & chips around which are always super popular with guests (just sayin’).
We do insist you use our caterers for canapes and the wedding breakfast. Sorry, we don’t allow other outside caterers, so we can be sure your guests get a great food experience.
