Guests arrived at 2pm for Donna and Mike’s vintage afternoon-tea wedding, and enjoyed a glass of either prosecco or orange juice. They were also served with tiny strawberries and cream to keep them going through the ceremony.
Their ceremony took place at 2.30pm and Donna walked in with her dad through the waterfall garden, followed by her bridesmaid, page boys and flower girls.
Donna and Mike had decorated their ceremony space by hand, including the super-cute handmade jars of flowers hanging from the ceremony arch. Their overall style was ‘vintage’, and their flowers (by Odds and Buds) were shades of burgundy and pinks.
Following the ceremony, guests were guided to the lawns for the drinks reception where they could choose from pimms & pink lemonade served in milk bottles, elderflower fizz served in kilner jars, prrosecco, or beers/ciders in ice baths. They had a selection of canapés, including; tiny cottage pie fritters, tiny fish cakes, courgette fritters with sweet chilli sauce, and tiny sausage and mash.
To carry on with their vintage theme, Donna and Mike hired vintage china from cybels vintage hire, which was their crockery for the wedding breakfast and was styled beautifully on their choice of buttermilk tablecloths. They created centrepieces themselves which were a 3 or 4 vintage books in a stack with flowers on top. Their table names were different types of tea and they hand-filled small jars with sweets as their wedding favours.
Their afternoon-tea wedding breakfast took place at 4pm and guests indulged in a selection of afternoon tea delights, including; poached salmon & cream cheese, cheese & chutney, ham & wholegrain mustard, roasted red pepper hummus & rocket for the sandwiches, and individual mini victoria sponge, lemon drizzle slices, coffee and walnut squares, plain and fruit scones with bowls of clotted cream and strawberry jam, as their cakes. They served a variety of different teas, and had prosecco for the speeches which commenced during the afternoon-tea.
Their free bar opened at 5.30pm and Donna & Mike provided beer, cider, lager, red & white wine, vodka, jack daniels, gin, southern comfort, coke, tonic, juices and squash. At 7.30pm they cut their ‘cheese cake’ and moved into their first dance.
They had an iPod playlist for their evening entertainment, and their evening food was served at 9pm. Donna and Mike opted for sharing boards for their evening food (usually served as a wedding breakfast option) as well as cheese and port.
