“I cannot recommend Ever After highly enough. I knew that I wanted to get married here before my partner (now husband!) had even proposed. We both have large families and I always knew that the large wedding was never going to be for me.
Knowing that I wanted to get married in Devon, I googled “elopement package Devon”. After looking at a few (which simply didn’t fit the bill) I came across Ever After; I’m so glad that I did! The online brochure cemented my decision that Ever After was for us; we were looking at travelling about 4 hours to the venue and the full package that Ever After provides meant that we were not going to have to travel the country meeting with suppliers.
In the months leading up to the wedding, contact was made with the caterers (to discuss the menu choices), the florist (to send pictures of the sort of bouquets I loved) and the cake maker (again to send pictures of what we loved and flavours that we would like) and Nicola to discuss the décor style we would like! Honestly it was as easy and simple as that.
The Honeymoon Cottage was fabulous and I have real bathroom envy! We fell asleep to the sound of the river in a bed which was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in! The kitchen was stocked with all things needed to see us through including the makings of a scrummy breakfast on the morning of our nuptials; which I was unable to eat owing to wedding day nerves. The dressing area was perfect for me to get ready in, with both a makeup artist and hairstylist as well, and I was able to send Hubby to The Annexe so that I could get ready alone.
The same nerves that made breakfast difficult to swallow also made me sure our wedding cake was orange and my flowers were blue – I need not have worried! Everything was just as I had pictured it in my head, only better! In fact, when family and friends have seen the photographs they have all said the same thing “Emma it’s all just so you”.
We’ve been unable to pinpoint one moment of our wedding day that was our favourite; from the beginning to the end it was perfect! So perfect that we both agree that we wouldn’t have done anything differently and in fact would be more than happy to do it over and over again at this same venue!
If you are wondering whether or not to book, our advice would be “book it, why are you delaying? It was the best decision we ever made!” We did it alone, just the two of us and we would not have it any other way – I can’t imagine having chosen somewhere else.
Ever After was the princess day that I wanted without the guests; the venue is picturesque, the suppliers were brilliant and got it without having met us, and Nicola welcomes you as though you are old friends.
