bride tribe glam
As we head into the weekend, I wanted to take a more in depth look at this gorge elopement from the end of last year. Judy & Marian booked their elopement wedding with us for December and what a December wedding it was. You’ve heard of brides having a bride tribe. Well Judy and Marian took this to the next level. They had 5 guests who were ALL bridesmaids. All with different dresses but all in delicious dark green, some velvet, some crepe. Some of the girls wore faux flower wrist corsages which match Marian’s faux buttonhole. This pic is why we’ve called this bride tribe excellence.
The ceremony took place on the terrace under the glass roof in front of a roaring fire. The arch was decorated with a dried flower garland brought in by the couple and the florist provided fresh petals for the floor in front of the arch. The girls wanted wintery but not Christmassy so we dressed the ceremony space with sheepskin rugs on the floor and the chairs for a cosy but not Christmassy feel.
Judy told me her colours were dark green and camel these colours were woven into everything on the day, the bouquet, the table setting, the cake, the cake table for a seamless feel.
The couple did a first look with our Clare on the balcony of the honeymoon cottage. If you don’t know what a ‘first look’ is, it’s where the couple see each other for the first time before the ceremony and have a private moment together. For couples who choose a first look (and not everyone does) most ask Clare to be there to capture it but you can also have it privately without a photographer if you prefer. So here’s Judy & Marian’s…
Judy walked into the ceremony with her bridesmaids who each had their own epic dance in – more people should do this! This is how you do bride tribe…
After the ceremony of course the champagne corks were popped
and confetti thrown…
There were photos outside
both on their own and with the bride tribe
Later, Judy threw her bouquet on the river walk and there was quite the scramble to be the one to catch it…
Back on the terrace we were setting up the space for dining and displaying the cake. Following the green and camel colour choice the dining table was laid with a dark green table cloth, a camel overcloth and dark green linen napkins. Gold chargers, amber water goblets and coloured tealights added the sparkle. The bridal bouquet was placed on the table for the centrepiece and more petals from the florist were scattered for an extra pop of colour. The terrace walls were already the perfect backdrop colour – win!
We left the ceremony arch in place to frame the cake table and placed the cake on a half moon table dressed with a dark green cloth topped with a copper sequin overcloth for all the glam vibes fitting with this uber stylish wedding.
The cake was iced in a dark green bottom tier with marbled top tier, dressed with fresh flowers from the florist and a cake topper. We added brass lanterns, green and gold tea lights and the Matron of Honour’s bouquet and the cake was ready to take centre stage
