Ever After anniversary stays

(updated to serve as a general helpful overview of our anniversary stays – amended to take out previous year’s available summer dates)

Anniversary stays

The anniversary stay is baaaack!  The lovely S and I have decided to open our doors again for lovely couples who’ve already got married with us to come back and stay.  Yay! We love to welcome back old friends and we’ve had so many enquiries from couples wanting to come back again we wanted to see what we could do.

Which accommodation?

We’ve got the honeymoon cottage where you’ve stayed before so you know all about that and what that looks like.   In case it was a while ago and your memory is dimming (or is that just me) here’s a lil reminder:

Oh yeah, remember it now?

And the shepherd’s hut.  That’s S’s private fishing hut right on the river.  And this is it…

Since this pic was taken, there’s a firepit on the deck so you’ve now got a fire inside and out.  There’s also a table & chairs on the deck for eating outside.  And another change is a fold down table inside so you can comfortably eat indoors too.

There’s one more unit which is the annexe.   Here are some pics:

The annexe isn’t available to rent on its own because it doesn’t have any kitchen facilities so it’s not self-contained.   But if you’ve got children or someone else you’d like to bring, you can share it with them if you rent the cottage or the hut.   So to be clear, the annexe is only available if you hire the cottage.   And it’s only available for friends and family of yours if you’re staying with us.

The gardens

Both the cottage and the hut have lovely outdoor decks  so you have your own outdoor space. Yay!  And of course you’ve got the garden so there’s plenty of extra space.

But there’s more…  If you hire the cottage, you’ll get exclusive use of the terrace by the fire – remember that from your wedding?

What are the dates?

I’m not going to include any dates in this post which originally focused on dates for earlier years – this post is to give you general info about how the staycations work.

You can see new dates for the current year as they’re released under new blog posts.  When the 2024 dates are released, I’ll put a link in this post to those dates.

For future years where the dates haven’t been released, you can email me and let me know which dates you might be interested in and I’ll give you a heads up before any dates are officially released.

I’ve got a waiting list for our 2025 anniversary staycation dates.  We haven’t fixed those dates yet but if you want to be sure to secure an anniversary staycation date for 2025, just email me and I’ll put you on the waiting list.

Prices

How much?  We’ve tried to keep this as simple as possible.  The prices below include VAT.

Cottage

midweek 2 nights           £600

weekend 2 nights           £720

FYI the cottage now only sleeps 2 people, we no longer have the pull out beds or the sofa bed .  You’re welcome to bring blow up beds or travel cots for small children if you’d like them to stay with you.   For older children, think about booking the annexe and/or hut for them.

Hut

2 midweek nights           £300

2 weekend nights           £375

Annexe

2 nights           £228

If you’ve got friends/family you’d like to bring along you’re welcome to hire the hut for them.   If you want to do that, get in early because if it gets booked by someone else, it’s gone…

Don’t forget the annexe is only available for your family/friends IF you book the cottage.

How do I book?

As ever it’s first come, first served.

So email me now and let me know:

  1. Your original wedding date (we gotta verify you!)
  2. Which date(s) you want
  3. Whether you want the cottage and/or the hut and/or the annexe

Can we only come back on the date we got married?

Nope, you’re not restricted to coming back around the time of year you got married.

If you got married with us you can come back and stay on any anniversary date we’ve got available.  So if you got married in the winter and you fancy a summer stay, fill yer boots.   Equally if you got married in the summer and you fancy a cosy indoor stay snuggled up by the fire, have at it.

What’s included?

Tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits are included.

Bring your own food including breakfast.  Bring all the drinks!

Both the cottage and hut have their own bbq.   Bring charcoal if you want to use the bbq.   Utensils and matches are provided.

Wood, firelighters and matches are provided for the fire(s).

If you’re staying in the cottage, you get exclusive use of the terrace each evening.   If you’re staying in the hut you get exclusive use of the new island seating area right by the river.

You’ve got full access to the gardens and the woods.   The only other people you might see on the day are the people staying in the other unit and the lovely S and I.   There are plenty of places to sit in the garden, the river walk, the ponds, the apex, the main lawns.

Check in and out times

Check in time is the same as when you get married – you can arrive any time after 2pm on arrival day.

Check out time is 11am on the last morning.

When do we pay?

There’s a £120 deposit to pay to confirm your anniversary booking.   I’ll email you a deposit invoice and the usual bank details are on the invoice.  Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice.

Once you’ve paid your deposit, you’re snugly booked in.    If you don’t pay within 7 days, the date becomes available to be booked by someone else.

The balance is payable in full 3 months before your stay, I’ll email you a final invoice for that too.

What if I need to cancel after I’ve booked?

We don’t refund deposits if you need to cancel but we’re very happy to move your deposit to another date, either the same year or another year, whatever suits you best.

You can either book your new date when you’re cancelling your booking or you can come back to us at a later date when you’ve figured out a date that works for you.

If you’re re-booking for a later year, we probably won’t know our dates when you cancel so we can put you on the waiting list and let you know the dates at the beginning of that year.  We hope that’s ok.

Any questions, hit me up by email [email protected]
