Things to do after you’re engaged!

The chances are if you’re reading this post, you’ve just had a bobby dazzler placed on your finger. YAY!! Congratulations if you’ve just got engaged – so exciting!

So, now you’ve broken the news and you’ve told everyone you know and love it’s time to get down to the real nitty-gritty. We’ve set out a guideline to help you on your path of being engaged, keep reading below…

Set a budget

Setting a budget can be a bit of a balancing act but it’s so important to make that your first task. Without it, you could find yourself endlessly adding this, that & the other to the list and never truly knowing how much you’ve spent… eek! that’s a scary thought! Once you’ve decided on how much you’d like to spend on your special day, you can start saving as well as sourcing suppliers, venues and decor.

Share your dreams & thoughts

Maybe it sounds like the first thing you might do? But make sure you’re both on the same page about what you both want for the day! You may also be surprised to find out that your partner has a much bigger vision and may want more involvement than you first thought. Relationships are all about compromise so what better place to start than with the planning process?!

Create your guest list

Now you’re engaged I’m sure you’re already dreaming about where and when you want to have your special day!
Don’t make the mistake of viewing hundreds of venues without knowing how many people you’re going to invite. Firstly it’s a waste of time if you set your heart on a venue that can only accommodate 50 guests when you want to invite 120!

It’s a time-consuming task, but as soon as it’s out of the way you can get on with the fun stuff.

Choosing your bridesmaids

Let your best girls (& guys) know that you’d love them by your side on your big day! You could ask them in a really creative way too… head over to Pinterest and check out these upcoming ways to ask.

Finally, you’re getting married!

Remember, you’re marrying your perfect match – not your dress, the invites or even the venue. While wedding planning is super exciting & sometimes consuming, don’t lose sight of why you’re doing it. At the end of the day, as long as you marry your partner, everything has gone to plan…
